This was a wood clubhouse, that had been used by the Hall Building Contractors as offices, and was bought off the receivers for £50.00. It was dismantled piece by piece over the Easter of 1962 and brought to Ashington and erected by club members, at a total cost of £700.00. It seated 60 and was situated to the side of the existing clubhouse. Every member of the club bought a floor tile to pay for the cost of purchase and construction.

1970 - Existing clubhouse bought The existing clubhouse had originally been the colliery policemans house. It had been bought by a milkman who regularly complained about the noise from the wooden clubhouse hext door. The Club were able to buy the house in 1970. Two years were spent converting it, with much of the work being completed by members.

1977 - Winners of the Northumberland Senior Shield. 1979/80 - Club builds an extension to Clubhouse. The original plan was to build changing rooms and showers. However, the plans were changed to incorporate an extended lounge/function room. 1980's - The playing strength of the club continues to grow, some seasons running five teams plus a colts side. Winners of Durham and Northumberland Courage League Division 1 and Journal Trophy Division 2 winners. The second team also won the Journal Trophy 2nd Team competition.

1991/92 - Winners of the Bede Insurance 2nd Team competition.

1993 - Start of the now annual September weekends. Marquee with Friday Sportsmans Dinner, and Live Band on Saturday. 1994/95 - Winners of Courage League North East Division 2.

1995/96 - Club Second Team win the Northumberland Senior Shield.

1997 - The creation of two additional rugby pitches at the Recreation Ground. The club hold the National Under 16's invitation '7 a side' event, featured on Sky TV. 1998/99 - Newly elected President Keith Liddell proposes plans for major development of facilities, to cater for a number of sports. Tenure of the lease for 'The Ree' sought to allow funding applications to proceed.

We promote the 'Players Charter' that gives more control of what happens to the club back to the players. The junior rugby, held on Sunday mornings, is the area the club is advancing. Yound players are the future of the club, and with school games lessons becoming secondary to academic lessons, it is vital young boys & girls have a weekly fun sporting activity.
